Post-Punk Party Bag - Original Painting
Description
"This painting features my ubiquitous blue Adidas sports bag which I had at school and I used to draw all over it and put my favourite band’s names on. I got a bit carried away and thought: “Oh I can’t leave that band out and I can’t leave that band either” so I kept on writing more band names on the blue bag. I apologise if one of your favourite bands doesn’t appear on this bag but I ran out of space!
"This bag has the classic album by Television ‘Marquee Moon’ which is a symbol of coolness, shall we say. The top I’m wearing here is a Breton striped t-shirt which is one of Andy Warhol's favourite items of clothing. I first came across the striped t-shirt when Edwyn Collins wore it in his band’s second album."
