'Our Stuart once took me fishing on the Tinsley Canal. We didn't catch anything, which is no surprise. All I longed to do was to go to the cafe across the road. But, alas, my brother had taken care of the catering in the shape of a round of cheese sandwiches with the added gastronomic delight of the odd bit of ground bait stuck to the bread.'
