Introducing The Summer Getaway collection from Pete McKee.
Summer is well underway, and this year Pete wanted to focus on the theme of getting away from it all. Take a spin in the car, an away day with mates, a solo cycling tour or a weekend in your camper with a loved one, with this new collection of works. Available this Saturday 18th July at 10am from Pete’s Gallery in Sheffield and online from 5pm the same day.
To celebrate the launch we are delighted to be joined on the day by a VW T2 Camper which will be positioned in Leah’s Yard with Pete himself selling prints from this classic vehicle. We will also have a boot full of t-shirts available to purchase from a 1980’s For Capri which will be parked right outside the gallery. Both of these will be around between 10am - 2pm.
WHEN DREAMS COME TRUE - A3 Limited Edition Screen Print of 100, signed and numbered by Pete and produced by our friends Harvey Lloyd Screens. “We all strive to reach our own personal nirvana, and one day we may be lucky enough to achieve it. But until then we shall all dream.”

A CASUAL EXCURSION - Open Edition Print, available in our usual landscape sizes and choice of frames (original painting of this picture is also available, please email pete@petemkcee.com for more info)
“An awayday starts with the right gear, once the lucky underpants have been donned the important aspects of choosing the right outfit is next, will it be your new Fila trackie top or your favourite Tacchini? Let’s face it, it’s always the new top. Then it’s off to the station to meet your mates, grab a few tinnies and board the intercity.”

SPEED FREAKS T-SHIRT - An absolute McKee classic, never released on a t-shirt before.
“Me and my mate would prowl the estate looking through car windows at the dash to see how fast they could go. The Capri was as close to a sports car you would get on the estate.”

MAKE DO AND MEND - A3 Risograph Print, produced by the wonderful Koji Press.
“Our hapless traveller finds himself in a predicament that all cyclists eventually encounter. Fortunately aid is at hand thanks to the local inn’s Dog and his water bowl. Mother is the necessity of invention and we all strive to make the best out of a bad situation.”
