Chicken Soup

Created for the Exhibition: A Boy with a Leg Named Brian: Memoirs by Pete McKee

'It didn't actually matter if you had a big tea before you went swimming (which you definitely weren't supposed to do: I remember someone's big brother's mate saying they knew someone who had a friend that almost drowned after eating his tea.) Either way, after you'd finished in the in the baths you were always absolutely starving. So thank heavens for the drinks machine delivering soup or hot chocolate, and the tuck shop in the sport centre foyer. My personal go-to was chicken soup and a packet of pickled onion Monster Munch.'
