A Medium Sliced Loaf And An Elephant's Foot Bun
Description
Taken from the 6 Weeks To Eternity Collection
'One of the duties given to you during the six-week holidays, while your parents are out working, is getting a loaf from the bread van as it winds its daily route around the estates. The inconvenience and irksomeness of having to peel yourself off the sofa and out onto the street to appease your parents is only mildly tempered by the additional funds allowed for the purchase of a bun. The difficult choice is: which bun? apple charlotte, egg custard, apple turnover, or elephant’s foot?'
