Love Springs Eternal

Created for Frank and Joy: a Love Story Exhibition 2023

'Frank had never loved anyone as he had loved Joy. He had never once lost his desire to see her smile, never tired of her presence in their tiny house. The sound of her steps on the creaky floor as she moved from room to room and the rhythm of her breath as they sat side by side watching TV were a blissful accompaniment to his own existence. Her hair lacquer in the little bottle by the sink, slippers at the door ready to comfort her tired feet as she returned home, her magazines draped over the arm of her favourite chair by the window, a Fry’s Chocolate Cream waiting to be eaten were all landmarks that let Frank know he shared his world with a person who was the centre of his universe. Every day they woke together was another day to be grateful.'
