Wish You Were Here a one day event by Pete McKee

Artist Pete McKee presents ‘Wish You Were Here’, an interactive art experience about climate change. This is also a pre-event for Pete’s April/May exhibition ‘Don’t Adjust Your Mindset’. Both this event and the exhibition are free to attend.

On Saturday the 2nd of April the McKee team will set up ‘Wish You Were Here’, a mock travel agency set in the not too distant future. Located in East London, for one day only, visitors can book a “vacation” to one of our eight holiday destinations which are, or will shortly be, affected by climate change. From cruises to the iceless Arctic to watching the endless sunsets caused by California wildfires, there really is something for everyone.

Once you have chosen your destination from our display, one of our holiday reps will give you a boarding pass* which contains all the information about this location, how it has been affected by climate change and what you can do to help. For this event Pete has worked with Dr Robert Storrar, a climate scientist from Sheffield Hallam University, who will be on hand to answer any questions you may have.

‘Wish You Were Here’, one of the paintings from the upcoming DAYM exhibition, and the inspiration behind this event, will be on display. Each visitor will receive a special limited edition postcard of this painting.**
