With less than two weeks until we open our pop-up gallery in Birmingham, we are so excited to share with you further details of this event!
We are so excited to set up our pop-up gallery in Birmingham. We will be located in Arch 21, The Custard Factory, B9 4AA, in Birmingham’s trendy Digbeth area from Thursday the 4th of July - Sunday the 7th of July 10am - 6pm. Available at the pop-up will be our latest summer collection, limited edition prints, Pete’s Birmingham tourist poster and a special selection of McKee images. We also have some very exciting events on in conjunction with our pop-up gallery so keep reading!
Opening Evening - Wednesday 3rd of July
To celebrate our pop-up gallery in Birmingham’s Custard Factory we will be hosting an opening evening on Wednesday the 3rd of July from 6pm - 8pm at this location. A drink will be served on arrival and can be sipped whilst you enjoy our new space! This event is free and if you would like to attend then please send a us a quick email to chris@petemckee with the amount of people you will be bringing.
Book Signing and Talk - Saturday 6th of July
To celebrate Pete’s latest publication, Council Skies, Pete will be hosting a book signing on Saturday the 6th of July from 10am - 12pm. This will take place at the pop-up’s location in the Custard Factory.
The same day Pete will also give a talk on his latest publication, Council Skies, at the pop-up location from 6pm - 7.30pm. This is a unique opportunity to hear the artist discuss his book. Pete will also give an insight into how his childhood experiences of growing up in a working-class environment shaped his painting and what inspired him to become an artist. This event is free, however there is limited seating so please click the link to book your place.
Signed Birmingham Tourist Poster
To celebrate this fantastic city Pete has designed a tourist poster that pays homage to Birmingham. This will be available to buy at 10am Thursday the 4th of July at the Birmingham pop-up gallery, the McKee website and the McKee gallery in Sheffield. However the first 50 posters will be signed by Pete and will be available to purchase on the open evening at 6pm on the Wednesday the 3rd of July.
